History of business development.
Health Data Management Solutions, Inc.
In 2000, ActiveHealth acquired Health Data Management Solutions (HDMS) to build upon our data management and analytics capability. Using flexible data integration protocols, HDMS allows us to aggregate multiple data sets from various third-party vendors (e.g., PBMs, Behavioral Health, health plans, etc.) to strengthen our algorithms for identification and intervention opportunities. HDMS' DARTSM reporting solution allows us to provide data analysis on our clients' populations via web-based, desktop reporting.
e-MEDx, Inc.
In 2000, we also acquired e-MEDx, Inc. and their subsidiary Health Cost Consultants (HCC). Through this acquisition, we are able to provide a broad array of integrated, URAC-accredited utilization review, case management and disease management services. HCC's (now ActiveHealth's) Chantilly, Virginia clinical operations call center has been in operation for 20 years and is staffed by over 115 nurses and three on-site medical directors. ActiveHealth's sophisticated care management technology platform, ActiveAdvice®, enables the delivery of our service components individually or as an integrated, single-source care management solution.
Aetna, Inc.
In May of 2005, ActiveHealth was acquired by Aetna, Inc. ActiveHealth operates as a branded, standalone business. We continue to expand our business across all segments including health plans and self-insured employers.
